Cookie Policy
Updated: October 16, 2026
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Some last until you close your browser, and others stay until they expire or you delete them.
2. Cookies We Always Set
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
bt_session |
Keeps you signed in and protects the forms you submit (CSRF protection). The site cannot work without it. | Until you close your browser |
bt_sid |
Groups the pages your browser requests during one visit, so we can detect attacks and abuse such as automated scanning. Unless you allow statistics, we use it for nothing else. | Until you close your browser |
bt_consent |
Remembers your cookie choice, so we do not ask again on every page. Set when you choose. | 6 months |
bt_currency |
Remembers the currency you chose to see prices in. Set when you choose one. | 1 year |
We also keep a few things in your browser's local storage, which is not a cookie: your theme, how you like your saved trips shown, and the trips you heart before you sign in. The theme and the view never leave your device. The hearted trips are sent to your account when you sign in, so they are saved there.
These cookies are strictly necessary: they keep you signed in, protect the site and remember the choice you made.
3. A Cookie You Ask For
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
remember_token |
Keeps you signed in after you close your browser. Set only if you tick Keep me signed in when you sign in. | 14 days |
4. Statistics, Only With Your Permission
If you allow statistics, bt_sid lasts a year instead of ending when you close your browser, and we use it to understand how the site is used over time: your visits joined together, how long you stay on a page, how far you scroll, how you move and click on it, and which campaign led to a booking. A small script on the page reports that, along with your screen and window size, time zone, languages and number of processor cores, and it does that only with this permission. Without it, the same script tells us only that it ran and whether an automated browser is in control, which is how we tell visitors from bots. When you sign in, or arrive by following a link in an email we sent you, we connect these visits to your account or to that email address, including the pages of that visit you saw before you allowed statistics.
The same answer decides whether the emails we send you report when they are opened, which links you follow and whether you view them in your browser. It applies to the email address you give us in that browser when you create an account, confirm a newsletter subscription or book a trip, and, while you are signed in, to your account's address. You can change it at any time with Manage cookies at the bottom of any page while you are signed in, and switching Statistics off also stops emails we already sent you from reporting.
None of this happens unless you choose Accept all in the cookie dialog, or turn on Statistics under Customize. You can change your choice at any time with Manage cookies at the bottom of every page.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
bt_sid |
With your permission, recognizes your browser from one visit to the next, so we can understand how the site is used. | 1 year |
5. Managing Cookies
Use Manage cookies at the bottom of any page to see or change your choice. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block bt_session, you will not be able to sign in.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy if we change our cookie practices. Significant changes will be communicated on our website.
